Earlier this week I did NOT feel like putting together my weekly work wardrobe. And every morning involved dragging myself from the island of my bed to the tundra of the outside. And while I try to figure out why my heating has not cut on yet, I've been doubling up on sweaters and wearing leggings under my fleece pajama pants when I dare brave the hardwood floors of my apartment. Needless to say, my outfits have suffered as of late and I have not felt inclined to step by game back up, though I did have one day of triumph (that came out of laziness).
Cardigan: Express ($31.99 after sale and coupon); Lace Tank: H&M ($5.95); Poppy orange pencil skirt : H&M ($24.95); Black belt with bow: Forever 21 ($4.90); Black patent peep-toe with tortoise shell heels: Steve Madden (old)
I put together this outfit simply because it was the end of a brief encounter with warm weather (72 hours of above 50-degree temps) and because it required no ironing. Forgive the wide eyes. It was the end of an 8-hour day with my 7th graders, who had spent most of the time having a debate about why we should or should not have more reading time in class. Ikidyounot. The verdict: one class voted to keep the 12-minute standard and the others have been bumped up to 15 minutes. One of my students decided that after he'd said his piece, he'd take a stab at portraiture and handed me this 3-minute sketch at the ringing of the bell.
Karl Lagerfeld should hunt him down, right? ;-)
